  • Payment Information: All payments are securely processed by Stripe. We do not collect, process, or store your raw credit card information on our servers.
  • AI Processing: The video transcripts and prompts are sent to third-party AI providers (such as OpenAI) strictly for the purpose of generating summaries or tool outputs. We do not use your personal data to train our own AI models.

3. Chrome Extension Data Practices

Our official Chrome Extension ("ytskim - YouTube Video Summarizer") accesses and processes data strictly to facilitate its core functions on YouTube:

  • Authentication & Cookies: The extension reads ytskim.com session cookies to verify your identity, login status, and synchronize your subscription plan or credits. Cookie data is processed locally and never stored or shared.
  • Active Tab URLs: The extension accesses the URL of your active YouTube tab to identify the video to summarize. It only transmits this URL to our secure servers when you actively click the "Summarize" or "Transcript" buttons. We do not collect or monitor your general browsing history.
  • Local Storage: We use browser storage APIs (chrome.storage.local) to store temporary interface states (such as active tabs or panel open/close settings) locally on your machine.

4. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve our AI video transcription and summarization tools.
  • To process your credit pack purchases and manage your account balance.
  • To communicate with you, including for customer support, receipt delivery, and service updates.

5. Security of Data

The security of your data is important to us. We encrypt sensitive data and use industry-standard security measures (such as secure HTTPS connections and secure database hosting) to protect your account. However, remember that no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.
